What is GACC?
GACC stands for the General Administration of Customs of China. It is the Chinese government authority responsible for overseeing the import and export of goods, especially food and agricultural products.
As of January 1st, 2022, China implemented new food safety regulations requiring foreign food manufacturers, processors, and storage facilities to be officially registered with GACC before their products can enter the Chinese market.
This means that Australian producers who want to export food products to China—such as meat, wine, honey, dairy, fruit, or seafood—must complete the GACC registration process and obtain approval.
Without GACC registration, your goods may be delayed, rejected, or even denied entry at Chinese ports.
Why is it important?
Getting GACC registered ensures your business is legally compliant, trusted by Chinese importers, and ready to access one of the world’s largest food import markets.
